HISTORY
Community Bible Church started as an outreach to local children in 1874. Several young people had a desire to attend services but had no horse or buggy to transport them to church. A local Christian saw the need and organized a Bible education for them.
This ministry was so successful that it was enlarged to include adults. Ministers from the surrounding churches took turns preaching to the growing congregation.
In 1901 the members of this association voted to incorporate into a formal church. Community Bible Church was born. The first church building was erected on Rt. 59. An empty lot across from the Shell gas station has since taken its place.
The present property was purchased in the late sixties. The cornerstone of the new church was laid in 1969 and services began in 1970. The church is across the street from the Sierra Vista Condos. It is a red brick structure that is down a 150 foot driveway surrounded by woods.
Community Bible is a self-governed evangelical church that lifts up the name of Jesus and finds answers in God’s word, the Bible.
